A tribal medallion Armenian Kazak weave rug. The Bordjalu rugs feature a simpler design with particular use of latch hooks in large scale motifs. Bordjalu is a bold, archetypal design executed in vibrant colors of madder red, olive green, deep navy blue, light sky blue, soft yellow and ivory. This rug is among the Tufenkian Outlet Kazak collection which are the most distinctive Armenian carpet designs, incorporating deeply meaningful symbols into the bright and energetic palettes. This Borjajlu rug is hand knotted of 100% Armenian wool on a wool foundation and adorned in wool fringe. Historically the Bordjalou rugs were woven in a district just south of Tiflis, an area known for producing the heaviest and most coarsely woven Kazaks. The Tufenkian Kazak rugs however all have a pile height under one cm.

Our extremely handmade rugs are made with as much care as possible. When choosing a rug, please be aware that slight pattern changes may happen, but the rug will still look beautiful! In other words, a 3x5 may be slightly different than a 12x16.
Our extremely handmade rugs may be of a slightly different size (up to 3 inches). This is due to the beautiful hand-knotted and hand-tufted nature of our rugs.
Vacuum regularly. Loose threads should be trimmed with a scissor (do not pull!). Rug protectors are recommended. If your new rug is exposed to the sun, it is a good idea to rotate regularly to prevent uneven wear. Blot spills with a clean towel (white is best). Cleaning the entire rug should be handled by a professional rug cleaning service.
